Ok, so now we know that the upcoming new Toyota is not a pickup – not with the interior revealed in a second teaser pic just released by the automaker.

Toyota also let us know that the whole thing will be unveiled Feb. 10 (and thegreencarguy will be there to bring you the news).

We were pretty sure from the initial teaser (right) that the new Toyota would be an SUV and probably a three-row. but we left a little room for doubt, suggesting that the full-width LED light bar in the rear could mark the top of a pickup’s tailgate as well as the mid-line of an SUV’s lift gate.

But the new teaser leaves little doubt.

Unless Toyota’s quietly developed a three-row pickup, the star of the Feb. 10 unveiling of a new Toyota will be a new three-row SUV.

It most likely will compliment or replace the internal combustion Highlander, the oldest of Toyota’s SUVs and in dire need of a refresh.

Will it be electric or hybrid? We’ll find out on Feb.10. But smart money in on all-electric – either battery only (BEV) or ICE generator/battery, typically known as an EREV or extended range EV.

A few more points:

  • The leading edge of third-row seating is just barely visible in the art Toyota supplied; apologies for the loss of detail in the upload.
  • Those second-row captain’s chairs are likely for upper trim level. There should be a bench seat in some trims as well, the better to make this into a 7-seater.
  • The dash features what looks like the 12.9-inch infotainment system touchscreen introduced with the 2026 RAV4. That system – an option on some RAV4 trims and standard on others – features enhanced voice recognition, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a configurable home screen and integration with the driver-info screen to enable the person behind the wheel to see turn-by-turn navigation instructions without glancing to te right to peer at the center-mounted infotainment screen.
