RZ 550e F Sport is new addition to the Lexus EV lineup for 2026/Lexus

Lexus says it is extending the 2026 Lexus RZ lineup with an F-Sport version of its electric crossover and that all RZ versions get a redesigned battery-electric drive system for more range. The base trim also gets a boost in horsepower.

The company also promises reduced charging times for the new RZ “under ideal conditions.” And we know how frequent those are at our favorite DC fast-charge station!

The 2026 RZ lineup will consist of the RZ 350e with front-wheel drive, the RZ 450e with all-wheel drive and the new RZ 550e F Sport with all-wheel drive.

Better Charging, More Range

The 2026 RZ will have a NACS charging port for compatibility with Tesla Superchargers (an adapter will be needed for DC fast-charge stations with CCS connectors). It also gets an 11 kW on-board charger for Level 1 (120 volt) and Level 2 (240 volt) home and opportunity charging. Previous RZ models has CCS ports and 7.4 kW on-board chargers.

Lexus says the 2026 RZ can pull enough juice from a DC fast charger to bring a 90% depleted battery back up to 80% of capacity in about 30 minutes.

Driving range for the 2026 RZ is an EPA estimated 300 miles for the 350e with 18-inch wheels versus 266 miles for the prevosu year’s model; 250 miles for the 450e with 18-inch wheels,up from 220, and 225 miles for the F Sport with 20-inch wheels.

RZ Power

The single-motor 2026 RZ 350e is rated by Lexus at 221 horsepower, up from 201, while the dual-motor 450e is unchanged at 308 hp. The F-Sport tops the line at 402 horsepower. Lexus says zero-to-60 mph times for the three levers are 7.1 seconds for the 350e, 4.9 seconds for the 450e and 4.1 seconds for the 550e.

The RZ 550e F Sport also gets a set of paddle shifters to enable drivers to flip through electronically controlled, multi-level “gear” changes in a system Lexus calls “M Mode. The “M” is for manual. So while the RZ, like most other EVs, has a single-speed gear reduction system instead of a conventional multi-gear manual or automatic transmission, F Sport drivers will be able to “control power output with [the] paddle shifters, as if using a manual,” the company says.

Inside the RZ

Lexus keeps the minimalist design theme going for the RZ in 2026, but adds Ultrasuede trim -including on the door panels – for the F Sport. It also enhances the door trim illumination that was introduced with the RZ in 2023 with a flickering effect for “faintly changing shadow patterns that evoke the passage of time…”

The optional “Dynamic Sky” auto-dimming panoramic glass roof gets upgraded for improved shading when darkened and clearer views when transparent.
