Bronco Sport, Maverick pickup get hit as well

Tariff - Mach-E prices going up

Ford Motor Co. is raising prices on three popular models it builds in Mexico including its all electric Mustang Mach-E and has cited the new tariff on import autos as part of the reason.

The company that bills itself as the “most American” automaker said it will raise prices on Mach-E, Maverick small pickup and Bronco Sport models, all built at Ford plants Mexico.

The increases will range from a few hundred dollars to as much as $2,000 on one Mustang Mach-E model, according to a Ford spokesman who didn’t say which of the Mach-Es would suffer the biggest hit. \

Ford says the costs of the new Trump Administration tariffs on imported autos and auto parts are partly to blame for the hikes, which also could involve adjustments for inflation and increased content, if any.

Earlier, Ford told investors it expected the tariff cost to increase its overall costs for 2025 by at least $1.5 billion.

The price increases will apply to vehicles built in Mexico after May 2, and expected to start showing up in dealer showrooms in early June.

In its initial response to the tariffs announced in April, Ford instituted an “employee discount for all” incentive program on most models and recentyl extended it through July 6.

The spokesman said the discounts will be available on most of the Mexico-made models.

Ford builds almost 80% of the vehicles it sells in the U.S. at plants in the U.S, but it has two assembly plants in Mexico and one in Canada as well for its North American models.
